While we could all probably agree that Mother’s Day should be every day, we all know that Mom appreciates the extra thank-yous each year when May rolls around. I have been married for about 4 years now. Long enough to be out of the honeymoon phase but not long enough to know it all. However, my husband and I have been together since my freshman year of high school (minus a small gap when we went off to college), which is well over 10 years of being ‘shipped. We have learned quite a few lessons during that time, but one of the toughest lessons to learn has been how to fight fair.
If you haven’t caught on yet, when someone states that another person is ‘strong-willed’, they are trying to find a nice way to say that person is stubborn as heck.
Eric and I are both very strong-willed people.
Think back to the last time someone asked you “How’s it going?!”. More than likely, your response was something like “Oh good. Staying busy!”. I am right, aren’t I? I feel pretty confident about that because I respond that way all the time. I don’t think I have ever responded with “Oh so good! I couldn’t have fewer things to do!”. Our days are full of things to do. But most of the time, we feel so busy and overwhelmed because we are bad at prioritizing our time.
How can you find more time in your day?
Do you have a friend who always leaves you feeling uplifted? Who seems to know the best things to say to cheer you up? Or makes you feel like truly care about things going on in your life? I hope the answer to any of those is yes, because those friends are awesome and it is nice to have people like that in your life. Those friends know how to encourage others. And if you are like me, you have wanted to make other people feel as encouraged as your friend does for you.
