December 2017 Monthly Powersheets Goals
I honestly have no idea how I am already sharing my December Goals with you as I am fairly certain that it was April when I went to sleep last. Time goes by so quickly and it really does keep speeding up! At this point in the year, I am thankful that I have used my Powersheets to track my goals all year long because I can go back and see how far I have come since January.
I haven’t (and won’t) meet all the goals I set for myself in 2017, but I have made progress in all of the areas that I wanted to. And I still have a whole month to progress further!
One of the things that I love about Powersheets is the guide to pick out a word of the year as it really helps me focus on what I want to accomplish. There is also a space to write out a word of the month which has been helpful as well.
For the month of December, my word is Savor. Over the next 31 days, I am going out of state twice, attending at least 4 Christmas parties, having actual Christmas, and moving.
So with all of that going on, it could be easy to miss the joy of the season. I am going to have plenty of reasons to be joyful, but I want to be sure I focus on the good things and not the stress of getting things done.
Date Night with the Hubs – A staple to my monthly goals! This one is actually going to be a little tough to squeeze in because I am traveling a couple times this month, and the whole Christmas thing.
Buy Christmas Gifts (early) – I thought I was in good shape with Christmas gifts (I have bought one) but after talking to a few of my friends this past weekend, I should have all of my Christmas gifts wrapped and hidden in a back closet. But I am not a magical mom fairy who was blessed with the skill set of Martha Stewart. So I am aiming to have all of my gifts bought and delivered (thanks, Amazon Prime) by December 20. Just avoiding that last week rush.
Use all 5 classes via ClassPass – I discovered spin last month and can’t wait to keep up with my favorite new workout. And I am starting to fit into more and more of my pre-pregnancy clothes which is a huge win.
Read my Advent Study – I am going to be reading through Loving My Actual Christmas by Alexandra Kuykendall as my advent study this year. I love the ramp up that Advent gives to Christmas Day and it is so important to actually focus on Jesus and not just Hallmark movies and presents.
One “Phone Free Night” – These are not easy evenings because you really have to plan in advance and commit to it. We have added on “No Technology” evenings because I really do think I have an addiction to Hallmark movies. While I hate not getting to enjoy the happy endings with a fresh snowfall, it is likely just a rerun I have seen before.
Write the Word Journal – I am using the Gratitude Volume of Write the Word Journals from Cultivate what Matters. It is a great way to spend my quiet time in the morning by writing out several verses so that they stick a bit better!
Do 1 Load of Laundry – This seems like a silly goal, but our family really does operate better (and I have more sanity) when we do laundry in small chunks. And I spend less time overall hanging and folding clothes which is the bane of my existence.
