Things to enjoy in November

Fall is in full swing and the weather is actually a tad chilly in Houston which really helps to increase the fall vibes I am feeling. This is also the month that we can now start listening to Christmas music which is just the most joyful thing.
Also – Hallmark Christmas movies are running already. I highly recommend setting your DVR to record all of the movies. Nothing bad happens in Hallmark movies and everyone ends up happy.
If you are planning out your Holidays, be sure to take some time to treat yourself! The next few months can be so hectic, and I know you are going to be doing all things for everyone else – so I encourage you to pick something off this list and treat yo self!

Enjoy some of these things in November!
Hallmark Christmas are back – Hallmark Christmas movies are running already. I highly recommend setting your DVR to record all of the movies. Nothing bad happens in Hallmark movies and everyone ends up happy. It may go without saying, but these delightful 90 minute films can be found on the Hallmark channel.
Hearth and Hand coming to Target – Unless you have been living under a rock (buried miles and miles beneath the ground) you know about Chip and Joanna Gaines who turned Waco, TX (home of my alma mater – Baylor University) in to the most darling town full of farm houses. For those of us who don’t live in Waco, we get to take a piece of the Magnolia style home with us when their new line, Hearth and Hand comes to Target. I have pre-screened the line for you so you can put all of these great items in your cart as soon they hit stores on November 5.
Be sure not to miss this table runner, these napkin rings or this pre-picked shelf decorating collection (to help you put together a bookshelf styled like Joanna herself)
Thanksgiving & Turkey Trots – The Givens are starting a new tradition this year of doing a pre-lunch Turkey Trot so that we can make just a little more room in our tummies for food. My mom makes the best turkey and I make a pretty delicious pumpkin bread and I would like to stuff my self like the turkey itself.  If you are in Houston – get $5 off your BakerRipley Turkey Trot registration with the code 17GIVENS.
Taylor Swift, Reputation release November 10 – As someone who loved the 1989 album, I was extremely excited that Miss Swift was going to give us some amazing new tunes with cleverly crafted lyrics. But Taylor has released 3 songs off her new album and I have been more than disappointed. I haven’t given up hope yet that there may be a gem or two coming our way. But I am tempering my expectations that I am going to get another jam of “Blank Space” quality.
Black Friday/Cyber Monday – I am not a huge Black Friday fan, mostly because I discovered Amazon Prime and have very little need to go in to a physical mall anymore. But I love me some Cyber Monday. I stalk the J.Crew website like it’s my job on Cyber Monday. Some people spend the week after Thanksgiving buying all their Christmas presents for their family, but not I. I spend that weekend buying all of the discounted preppy clothing J.Crew can sell me.
Let me know what your favorite Cyber Monday stores are in the comments below!
New Planner Prep – My Simplified Planner for 2018 is coming in this month and I love getting to sit down and start blocking off days in my planner for vacations and holidays. We are thinking about taking a trip to Colorado sometime next year and I am excited to start planning our next family trip!
What are you looking forward to this month? Let me know what you are going to do to treat yourself during November in the comments below.
